Samsung Electronics has announced the upcoming integration of digital key compatibility for Mercedes-Benz vehicles with Samsung Wallet, starting in July 2025. This feature will allow Galaxy users to lock, unlock, and start their Mercedes-Benz vehicles using their smartphones.

“We’re excited to bring Mercedes-Benz drivers the incredible convenience that comes with Samsung Digital Key access,” stated Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics. He emphasized that this collaboration enhances Samsung's vision of seamless tech-enabled experiences across its ecosystem.

Stefan Blossey from Mercedes-Benz AG remarked on the importance of this development: “Bringing convenience and luxury to our customers is our top priority as we strive to bring them the best vehicle experience possible.” He noted that the integration would enhance connectivity and access for their customers.

Samsung Wallet serves as a platform for organizing digital keys, payment methods, identification cards, and more. It offers a secure interface protected by Samsung Knox security standards. The new digital key feature allows drivers to start their cars without needing physical keys or even removing their phones from pockets. Additionally, users can share digital keys securely with others.

The partnership ensures high security standards through rigorous EAL6+ certification and UWB technology set by the Car Connectivity Consortium. If a device is lost or stolen, users can remotely manage their digital keys via Samsung Find service.

Digital Key functionality will be available in select regions worldwide beginning July 2025 through registration on the Mercedes me application.

Mercedes-Benz AG operates globally with approximately 175,000 employees and focuses on developing passenger cars and vans while aiming for leadership in electric mobility and vehicle software.
