The U.S. Embassy in Doha has lifted the shelter-in-place order that was imposed on June 23, 2025. The embassy will resume operations tomorrow, and consular services are set to continue without interruption.
Despite the lifting of the order, Qatari airspace remains closed. Travelers are advised to closely monitor their flight status with airlines and stay informed through updates from the Government of Qatar and local news regarding any changes in the airspace situation.
The U.S. Embassy urges American citizens in Doha to remain vigilant, review their security plans, and stay alert for potential future threats. In case of an attack or reported security incident, individuals are advised to take specific actions:
"If you hear a loud explosion, or if sirens are activated, immediately seek cover." For those indoors, it is recommended to move to the lowest level of a building with minimal exterior walls and windows. Doors should be closed while sitting near an interior wall away from openings.
Those outdoors should find shelter in a hardened structure if possible; otherwise, they should lie down and protect their heads with their hands. Even when incoming missiles or drones are intercepted, falling debris poses a significant risk.
After any attack occurs, people should avoid debris and keep up-to-date by monitoring major news outlets for official guidance.
