Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) recently held its first supplier ESG exchange meeting of 2025, focusing on carbon emission management and promoting green transformation. The event aimed to support enterprises in their net-zero transformation efforts by providing practical lessons on conducting carbon inventories and lectures on green procurement.
Yuanta FHC is a founding member of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance, established in 2022. The company plans to continue its commitment to sustainable practices through initiatives like green procurement and carbon emissions disclosure. The annual supplier exchange meetings are part of Yuanta FHC's strategy to enhance partners' understanding of environmental issues.
The meeting included a specially designed course on carbon emission management, responding to Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment's announcement to expand carbon inventory registration. This initiative aims to help companies achieve net-zero emissions through processes such as inventory, verification, and reduction.
Statistics from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs indicate that micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) make up over 98% of all businesses in Taiwan. Yuanta FHC's exchange meeting targeted these MSMEs, emphasizing turning sustainability initiatives into actionable steps. Since 2020, Yuanta FHC has adhered to ISO 20400 sustainable procurement guidelines and conducts annual evaluations of suppliers based on criteria including human rights and environmental sustainability.
Yuanta FHC expressed hope that through its policies and guidance, it can contribute significantly to sustainable development.
