The U.S. Mission to Vietnam has initiated the "30 Years of U.S.–Vietnam Relations" campaign to celebrate three decades of diplomatic ties between the United States and Vietnam. This effort aims to reinforce bilateral relations and expand cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Over the past 30 years, this relationship has evolved into a robust partnership addressing shared economic and security objectives. The collaboration now encompasses various fields such as diplomacy, health, education, security, and economic development.

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper remarked, “From driving economic growth to expanding educational and cultural exchanges, to deepening security and defense cooperation, the U.S.–Vietnam partnership creates opportunities and sparks innovation, particularly in high-tech fields. As we celebrate 30 years of ties, we look ahead to even greater collaboration and impact." He emphasized the need for continued commitment to a prosperous future for both nations.

This year’s campaign emphasizes youth's role in shaping future relations between the two countries. In March, a delegation from 21 American universities visited Vietnam to enhance academic cooperation. Additionally, a youth exchange program will take place with Vietnamese high school students visiting the United States.

Consul General Susan Burns stated, “Our partnership has opened doors for youth from both countries to collaborate, learn from one another, and gain new perspectives."

The campaign includes unveiling an official logo inspired by a previous design by Vietnamese artist Trần Hoài Đức. It also introduces mascots featuring national symbols: the Eagle representing strength for the United States and the Lạc bird symbolizing resilience for Vietnam.

To engage communities across Vietnam, public friendship festivals will be hosted in multiple cities by the U.S. Mission to Vietnam and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. These events will feature music, games, interactive booths showcasing American culture and education opportunities.

As both nations commemorate this milestone in diplomatic relations, they remain committed to strengthening strategic cooperation for regional peace and prosperity.
