India's gaming sector is set to receive a significant boost with the launch of the Meta Gaming Accelerator. This initiative aims to support small and medium-sized gaming developers across India by providing them with resources and guidance necessary for growth. The announcement was made at the Meta Marketing Summit – Gaming Edition, which brought together key brands, venture capital funds, and gaming studios.

Arun Srinivas, Managing Director and Head of Meta (India), emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between talent and opportunity in India's gaming community. "That’s why we’re launching the Meta Gaming Accelerator – to provide Indian gaming developers with access to cutting-edge ad tools, expert mentorship, and critical guidance that they need to scale their businesses and take on the world," he stated.

The accelerator program is launched in collaboration with four leading venture capital funds: Bitkraft Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Lumikai Fund, and Elevation Capital. Initially, it will focus on empowering 20–30 emerging Indian developers through a structured curriculum covering monetization strategies, user acquisition, cross-border scaling, and AI-led game development.

Anuj Tandon from BITKRAFT Ventures expressed excitement about partnering with Meta on this initiative. "That’s why we’re excited to partner with Meta on the Gaming Accelerator—a good initiative aimed at enabling the ecosystem," he said.

Vamshi Reddy from Kalaari Capital highlighted the potential for growth in India's gaming industry but noted that more interventions are needed. "We’ve seen time and again that young companies with access to timely guidance...are better equipped to overcome growth hurdles," he commented.

Salone Sehgal from Lumikai Fund described it as a strategic partnership ensuring their portfolio companies receive necessary support for user acquisition strategies.

The program includes sessions on ad monetization using Meta Ads, player acquisition strategies workshops using AI-powered tools like Llama for storytelling and game design. It also offers business mentorship led by participating VC Funds.

The program will culminate in a Demo Day where developers showcase how they've utilized Meta's ecosystem solutions. Investors attending this event may offer platform-level amplification or funding opportunities based on performance.

This initiative aligns with Meta's ongoing investment efforts into India's digital economy recognizing gaming as both cultural expression driver as well as business opportunity enhancer.
