The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has announced the opening of applications for the 2026-2027 Hubert H. Humphrey (HHH) Fellowship Program. This ten-month professional development initiative targets individuals working in both public and private sectors, including research organizations, think tanks, and NGOs in Bangladesh.
The HHH Fellowship, established in 1978 to honor Senator and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, is recognized as one of the Department of State's most prestigious professional exchange programs. It offers mid-career professionals an opportunity to engage in non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and collaboration with American counterparts over a year-long period in the United States. The program aims to foster lasting partnerships between future leaders from abroad and their American colleagues by providing exposure to U.S. society and professional fields.
Applicants may apply under several fields: Economic Policy and Finance, Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration, Technology Policy and Management under Human and Institutional Capacity; Communications and Journalism under Rights and Freedoms; Agriculture and Rural Development, Urban and Regional Planning under Sustainable Lands; and Public Health Policy and Management under Thriving Communities.

Candidates must hold at least a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Bangladesh, have a minimum of five years of relevant full-time work experience before August 2025, possess management or policy responsibilities, not have participated in U.S.-sponsored exchange programs within three years prior to August 2026, be proficient in English (requiring TOEFL), be Bangladeshi citizens residing in Bangladesh during application/selection process, and not hold dual citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
