The U.S. Embassy in Gaborone has issued a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for connecting the internet through a fiber optic link. Interested companies are instructed to follow the guidelines outlined in Section 3 of the solicitation and submit their completed proposals to the address specified on Standard Form 1449.
The U.S. Government plans to award a contract or purchase order to the responsible company that submits an acceptable offer at the lowest price. The decision may be made based on initial quotations without holding discussions, although discussions may occur with companies within the competitive range if necessary.
A pre-quotation conference will be conducted virtually via Teams on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Prospective vendors who meet qualification requirements and have adequate resources are advised to contact the Contracting Office by emailing gaboronegsoprocurement@state.gov before Tuesday, June 17, 2025, by 10:00 AM for access to the virtual meeting link. It is noted that any internet connectivity issues will not be attributed to the U.S Government or its representatives.
Quotations must be submitted by Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM; submissions after this deadline will not be considered. Proposals should be in English and must comply with format specifications—MS-Word 2007/2010, MS-Excel 2007/2010, or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)—with each file not exceeding a size of 30MB. If necessary due to file size constraints, multiple emails with attachments under this limit should be sent.
For consideration, quotations must include completion of SF-1449, Section I Pricing details, Section 5 Representations and Certifications documentation as required in Section 3 of the solicitation materials and proof of registration with SAM (System for Award Management). Registration can be completed at https://www.sam.gov prior to proposal submission as required under FAR regulation 4.1102. Companies failing to register may find their proposals deemed non-responsible.
