In 2022, Siemens and NVIDIA initiated a partnership focused on connecting Siemens Xcelerator portfolio technologies with the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. This collaboration has expanded into areas such as generative AI, industrial AI, robotics, product lifecycle management visualization tools like Teamcenter Digital Reality Viewer, computational fluid dynamics software enhancements with Simcenter Star-CCM+, as well as advanced industrial PCs certified for NVIDIA GPUs.
One notable application involves HD Hyundai using these capabilities for visualizing hydrogen- and ammonia-powered vessels while significantly reducing design iteration times. Additionally, BMW Group achieved a 30x speedup in aerodynamics simulations using Simcenter Star-CCM+ software accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
The partnership also focuses on redefining factory operations through new lines of Siemens Industrial PCs designed for complex automation tasks like predictive maintenance. Advanced AI agents within the Siemens Industrial Copilot portfolio will execute processes without human intervention.
To enhance cybersecurity operations within industrial systems further leveraging accelerated computing technology from both partners’ portfolios—such as integrating BlueField DPUs—aims at pioneering operational technology cybersecurity advancements driven by artificial intelligence.
