On June 12, 2025, during the IAEA Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, Austria, a closing statement was delivered by the United States on behalf of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom regarding Iran's implementation of safeguards under the NPT Safeguards Agreement. The statement expressed support for the Board's adoption of a resolution concerning Iran.

The collective action by the Board aims to maintain the integrity of both the IAEA safeguards system and the broader nuclear nonproliferation regime. The statement emphasized that "states will be held to account if they do not live up to their obligations."

The resolution presents an opportunity for Iran to meet its obligations fully and address longstanding questions from the IAEA about undeclared nuclear materials and activities. The statement expressed hope that when this matter is reported to the United Nations Security Council, it would reflect Iran's compliance.

There is anticipation for further updates from the Director General in future months. Appreciation was also extended to him and his team for their professional efforts in verifying Iran’s compliance with its safeguards agreement.
