The BridgeUSA Ambassador Scholarship Fund offers an opportunity for university students from selected countries to travel to the United States during their summer break. Recipients of the scholarship will spend up to four months in the U.S., engaging in seasonal, entry-level jobs that involve significant interaction with American colleagues and guests.

The scholarship covers all program fees, round-trip flights, visa interview costs, SEVIS fee, and health insurance. Participants are advised to bring emergency funds. Jobs available include positions such as cashier, waitress, hotel clerk, lifeguard, and hotel cleaning. These roles provide a chance to practice English and earn a fair wage while experiencing winter activities.

Countries eligible for participation include Australia, Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Kiribati, Laos, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. A total of 10 participants from these regions will be selected.

During their stay in the U.S., participants will "live like 'a local'" for up to four months and can travel for an additional 30 days post-program. The experience is designed to help them learn about local culture and improve their English skills. It also provides an opportunity to build their CVs by acquiring skills such as American customer service and intercultural competencies.

The application deadline is July 3rd of this year. Interested individuals can find more information and apply at www.ambassadorscholarshipfund.org.

It is important to note that this program is distinct from the general BridgeUSA Summer Work Travel Program offered in over 150 countries worldwide.
