Barclays has unveiled a new Innovation Hub in London, collaborating with technology giants Microsoft and NVIDIA. The hub, situated in Shoreditch, is part of Barclays Eagle Labs and aims to foster the growth of startups in artificial intelligence (AI), deep tech, and the broader innovation economy.
The facility will provide workspace for 150 tech companies and offer access to events, workshops, growth programs, and networking opportunities. Core partners such as Conception X, Databricks, Innovate Finance, and Twin Path Ventures will be involved in shaping the hub's development. These partners will regularly meet to discuss strategies for enhancing support for businesses operating within the hub.
Hannah Bernard, Head of Business Banking at Barclays, emphasized the importance of collaboration within the UK's innovation ecosystem: “Key players from across the industry need to come together to help nurture and develop the next wave of tech entrepreneurs – this new Innovation Hub will play an important role in facilitating that as part of our wider offering to tech businesses.”
Microsoft's SMB Director in the UK, Ali Wright, expressed enthusiasm about their involvement: “Microsoft is delighted to be a launch partner, and we look forward to providing expertise and access to services that will help aspiring organisations fulfil their potential.”
Anthony Hills from NVIDIA highlighted their commitment: “The Barclays Innovation Hub is a vital catalyst for upskilling the UK’s workforce in AI and accelerating the growth of its ambitious startups.”
Barclays continues its efforts through its Eagle Labs network across 43 locations in the UK. This network has supported over 17,000 businesses since its inception.
