The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania is taking part in a worldwide initiative to improve the processing of immigrant visas and reduce wait times. According to an announcement on the Embassy's website, this involves transferring the processing of immigrant visas for Lithuanian residents to the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm starting December 2. The consular section will continue its services for U.S. citizens and handle nonimmigrant visa applications.
The United States and Lithuania maintain a strong alliance, focusing on enhancing security along NATO’s eastern flank, fostering mutual prosperity, and promoting democratic principles that support the transatlantic Alliance. The U.S. Embassy in Vilnius remains open and committed to these shared objectives.
