Today, March 18, at 10:00 a.m., the Lithuanian Fire and Rescue Department will conduct a test of the outdoor emergency notification system throughout Lithuania. This is only a test.

Residents may hear outdoor sirens followed by the verbal announcement, “Demesio visiems” (“Attention all”) for approximately three minutes. The sirens will be followed by text messages to cell phones of those who have requested to receive alerts.

In the event of a real emergency, residents are instructed to monitor public media for instructions.
