The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania is now accepting applications for the 2024 Summer Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) program, specifically targeting secondary school educators. This includes teachers, administrators, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook writers, and ministry of education officials involved in secondary education. The deadline for applications is January 6, 2024.
The SUSI program offers intensive, fully-funded academic programs with integrated study tours aimed at providing foreign secondary school educators and administrators an opportunity to enhance their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions. The primary objective is to strengthen curricula and improve the quality of teaching about the United States in secondary schools and other educational institutions abroad.
This year's program will adopt a hybrid format starting with a virtual component from June through August 2024. Two distinct institutes will be available: one focusing on classroom teachers and another on administrators such as teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook writers, and ministry of education officials.
Participants are required to complete the entire virtual program to qualify for participation in the subsequent in-person component held in the United States.
Further details regarding the program, including candidate descriptions and qualifications, can be accessed on the U.S. Embassy in Lithuania's website under "SUSI for Secondary School Educators."
