The United States Embassy in Pristina has announced the opening of applications for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative, a part of the Fulbright exchange program, aims to foster U.S. foreign policy goals by engaging mid-career professionals from over 100 countries worldwide.

The program offers a year-long opportunity for participants to engage in graduate-level non-degree academic coursework and professional development activities in the United States. Fellows are selected based on their leadership potential and dedication to public service.

Eligible fields for the fellowship include economic policy and finance, public policy analysis, technology management, communications, law, agriculture, natural resources management, urban planning, public health policy, and substance abuse education.

The fellowship spans ten months and requires participants to return to Kosovo for at least two years after completion. While family members may accompany fellows under certain conditions, financial support is limited to the fellow alone.

Applicants must be citizens and residents of Kosovo with a first university degree and at least five years of professional experience. Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 71 required. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a passport from their nominating country.

Certain individuals are deemed ineligible, including recent graduates without management responsibilities and those with dual U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Applications must include complete responses to all questions, two reference letters (one from a current employer), official transcripts for undergraduate degrees, and diplomas for higher education degrees if necessary. The deadline for submission is July 27, 2025.

The fellowship covers tuition fees, living allowances, travel expenses to host institutions and Washington D.C., but does not provide funds for dependents' travel or support.
