On May 30, 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Gaborone hosted a brunch event to celebrate a sports diplomacy exchange between Botswana and the United States. The gathering at the CMR included over 100 participants such as U.S. collegiate volleyball players, coaches, Botswana's top athletes, administrators, and leaders from the Botswana Volleyball Federation.

The event was co-organized by the Embassy, Bring It Promotions, and the Botswana Volleyball Federation. It highlighted how sport can bridge cultures and foster connections between people while expanding bilateral cooperation. Participants shared their experiences from friendly matches and volleyball clinics held across various locations in Botswana including Gaborone, Francistown, and Kasane.

Chargé d’Affaires Allyson Algeo delivered opening remarks at the brunch. She stressed "the importance of youth engagement and U.S.-Botswana partnership in sport and education." Additionally, representatives from Bring It Promotions and the Federation discussed the goals and outcomes of this volleyball initiative.
