The U.S. Embassy in Beirut has announced the opening of applications for the 2026-2027 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This program is a Fulbright exchange initiative aimed at mid-career professionals who exhibit leadership potential. Selected fellows will spend an academic year in the United States, engaging in non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts across various fields.

Eligible candidates should have at least five years of full-time professional experience by August 2026 in a relevant field and must hold a university bachelor's degree. The program is not open to individuals who are U.S. citizens or hold dual U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.

The embassy encourages interested candidates to submit their applications online by Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM Beirut Time. More information on eligibility criteria, academic fields, and program components can be found on the embassy's website.

Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously studied in the United States. Participants are required to return to Lebanon for a minimum of two years after completing the program and will not be eligible for U.S. employment, immigration, or residency visas during this period. However, they may apply for student, tourist, and business visas immediately after finishing the fellowship.

The selection process is merit-based and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
