Jean-Jacques Henchoz, the Chief Executive Officer of Hannover Re, has decided not to extend his contract and will step down from the Executive Board on March 31, 2025. Clemens Jungsthöfel, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer, will assume the role of CEO starting April 1, 2025. Christian Hermelingmeier is set to replace Jungsthöfel as CFO on the same date.
Henchoz, who is 60 years old, will maintain a close relationship with Hannover Re after his departure. His successor, Jungsthöfel, aged 54, has demonstrated significant expertise during his tenure as CFO at Hannover Re and HDI Global. He also has experience as a partner at KPMG, advising insurance companies.
Christian Hermelingmeier has been the CFO at HDI Global since September 2020 and previously served as Head of Controlling for Talanx Group's Private and Corporate Insurance Germany division. He holds a doctorate in business mathematics and is a trained actuary.
