Yesterday, May 28, Ambassador Virginia Evelyn Palmer concluded her three-year assignment in Ghana and departed from her post. Her departure marks the end of a 39-year career with the U.S. Foreign Service. Deputy Chief of Mission Rolf Olson has taken over as Chargé d’Affaires.

In a final message to the public, Ambassador Palmer wrote an op-ed that was published in several local newspapers: the Business and Financial Times, the Ghanaian Times, and the Daily Graphic.
