Swiss Re has announced the nomination of Morten Hübbe and George Quinn for election to its Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 11, 2025. This proposal comes as current board members Philip Ryan and Sir Paul Tucker have decided not to seek re-election.
Jacques de Vaucleroy, Chairman of Swiss Re's Board of Directors, expressed enthusiasm about the nominations, stating: "We are delighted to attract two outstanding industry professionals for election to our Board of Directors. Morten Hübbe and George Quinn bring extensive insurance experience, strong expertise in our core business and proven strategic skills."
Morten Hübbe has a notable background in the insurance sector, having served as Group CEO of Tryg from 2011 to 2023 and as Group CFO from 2002 to 2011. His career also includes roles at Zurich Insurance Group and Almindelig Brand Insurance in Denmark. Currently, he chairs the boards of Trustly, Siteimprove, and Conscia. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School.
George Quinn's career highlights include serving as Group CFO at Zurich Insurance Group until April 2024 and holding various leadership positions at Swiss Re from 1999 to 2014. His professional journey began at KPMG in London in 1988. Quinn earned his engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland.
Philip Ryan joined Swiss Re's Board in 2015, while Sir Paul Tucker became a member in 2016. Both have been part of the Risk Committee with Ryan also serving on the Audit Committee. Reflecting on their contributions, Jacques de Vaucleroy remarked: "On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank Phil and Paul for their great dedication and strong contributions to Swiss Re's strategic development over the past years. Their guidance and expertise will be thoroughly missed, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
