ANZ has announced a relief package for customers affected by flooding in the New South Wales Hunter and Mid-North Coast regions. The initiative follows severe weather that has disrupted communities, leaving many isolated.
Andrew de Lautour, ANZ General Manager for New South Wales and ACT, stated: “Torrential rain and rising floodwaters have cut off entire communities across the Hunter and Mid-North coast region, leaving residents isolated and essential services disrupted.”
He emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting that it is "one of the region’s most challenging weather events." De Lautour assured that ANZ's priority is to ensure safety and provide support to both customers and staff.
The relief measures include short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans. Fees will be waived for restructuring business loans and accessing term deposits early. Customers with ANZ Home and Contents Insurance may qualify for emergency funds and temporary accommodation.
De Lautour added: “We’ve activated our relief measures to help ease the pressure... As the situation unfolds, we’ll continue to be here in the days ahead – ready to support our customers and staff as they begin to navigate what comes next.”
