WTO leader meets Croatian PM ahead of 2026 ministerial conference

Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recently welcomed Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic of Croatia to the World Trade Organization (WTO). During their meeting, Director-General Okonjo-Iweala praised Croatia for its resilient and forward-looking economy, highlighting its focus on services trade and digital transformation.

Both leaders discussed the upcoming WTO Ministerial Conference scheduled to take place in Cameroon in March 2026. They agreed that this conference presents a significant opportunity for reforming the WTO and enhancing its role in governing global trade.
