ANZ has been confirmed as a major sponsor for the 2025 You Are Not Alone (YANA) Conference. The event is scheduled for May 28 at Melbourne's Abbotsford Convent. This conference commemorates the 50th anniversary of YANA Family Violence Service, Victoria’s pioneering women’s refuge, which is dedicated to tackling family violence and supporting survivors.
The gathering will unite advocates, service providers, and community members to evaluate progress and explore future opportunities within the sector. Janet Liu, ANZ Head of Social Impact and Community Partnerships, highlighted the significance of their sponsorship. "In our mission to shape a world where people and communities thrive, a core component of that is ensuring that there is support in place for customers and members of the community who might need it," she stated. "We are thrilled to be a sponsor of the 2025 YANA conference, not only because YANA do such vital work but because it gives us an opportunity to learn from the sector and ultimately improve how we can help."
This sponsorship reflects ANZ's ongoing commitment to addressing family violence issues. It follows partnerships with Thriving Communities Australia’s One Stop One Story Hub—a platform designed for frontline workers to connect clients with support systems—and DV Safe Phone, which provides free phones to domestic violence victims across Australia.
A significant part of this partnership aligns with ANZ’s MoneyMinded financial education program. This initiative empowers adults by enhancing their money management skills. Since 2016, MoneyMinded has included a specialized module aimed at those experiencing family violence, serving as an educational tool for specialists in this field.
Jan Khan, CEO of YANA, expressed enthusiasm about ANZ's involvement: “We are deeply excited to have ANZ on board as a sponsor for this event. It’s incredibly important that we have the backing of leading institutions working together to ensure that survivors are able to access the support and tools needed to take control of their lives.”
YANA offers confidential specialist support services including information, referrals, advocacy, crisis accommodation for women and children escaping family violence.
MoneyMinded remains Australia's largest financial education program since its inception in 2002.
