JPMorganChase has announced the establishment of the JPMorganChase Center for Geopolitics (CfG), a new advisory service aimed at helping clients navigate the complex global business environment. The center will be led by Derek Chollet, a seasoned foreign policy expert from Washington, and will draw on insights from both internal and external geopolitical and business advisors.

Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorganChase, highlighted the need for such a service in today's interconnected world. “In today’s world, business leaders must navigate rising global competition coupled with unprecedented interconnectedness, disruptive technological forces, persistent economic uncertainty and proliferating geopolitical crises,” he stated. Dimon added that CfG would offer strategic vision and data-driven analysis to support clients in addressing challenges within the changing global economy.

The CfG will work across the firm to provide advice on major geopolitical trends such as artificial intelligence advancements, shifts in global trade and supply chains, U.S.-China relations, and changes in Europe and the Middle East. In addition to regular reports providing timely analysis, CfG plans to host events including webinars and in-person sessions with clients.

Derek Chollet emphasized the value of leveraging JPMorganChase's resources to aid clients. “Working with clients every day, our team has a front row seat to how global economic uncertainty is forcing business leaders to evaluate their short- and long-term playbooks," said Chollet. He noted that JPMorganChase's position as a leading financial institution allows it to help clients make informed decisions enhancing commercial advantages.

Under Chollet's guidance, CfG will collaborate with experts within JPMorganChase as well as notable figures such as Condoleezza Rice, Tony Blair, and Paul Ryan. The center also plans a video series titled “If you had to choose one…” featuring discussions with these leaders.

Josh Bolten of Business Roundtable praised the initiative: “Geopolitics is no longer a side issue for business – it’s an issue in every c-suite and boardroom around the world.” He recognized CfG as an important step for businesses facing evolving global dynamics.

The first reports from CfG examine several significant trends affecting global markets. As Chollet explained in his introductory letter: “This isn’t a news digest. It’s a lens…into the tectonic shifts reshaping our world.” The reports address issues such as changes in the Middle East landscape, challenges for the U.S. defense industrial base amid global rearmament, and Europe's future amidst calls for strategic autonomy.
