Since the early days of America, Jewish citizens have been integral to the nation's development. They have contributed significantly across various fields, including law, art, science, and medicine. The United States provided a refuge for Jewish people emigrating from Europe, allowing them to practice their faith without fear of persecution.

President Donald J. Trump has issued a proclamation for Jewish American Heritage Month in May 2025. In this proclamation, he referenced President George Washington's letter to the Hebrew Congregation of Newport in 1790, which expressed hope that Jewish citizens would enjoy goodwill and safety in America.

Reflecting on his first term as President, Trump noted that his proclamations often highlighted violent acts of anti-Semitism that contrasted with Washington's vision. He mentioned the events of October 7, 2023, which brought violence to college campuses and city streets, causing concern within the Jewish community.

President Trump emphasized his administration's commitment to confronting anti-Semitism both domestically and internationally. He stated: "For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens."

He declared his intention to use legal tools against anti-Semitic incidents on university campuses and reaffirmed support for Israel. Trump proclaimed May 2025 as Jewish American Heritage Month and urged Americans to celebrate with appropriate activities.

In closing his proclamation, President Trump reiterated his dedication to ensuring that anti-Semitism finds no place in America.
