The U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam has announced the resumption of limited routine services for U.S. citizens starting in June. Appointments can be scheduled through the Mission Netherlands website, though increased wait times or limited availability may occur as services resume.
For those eligible to renew their U.S. passports by mail, there is no need to visit the consulate or schedule an appointment.
Limited nonimmigrant visa services are expected to restart in July, with updates available on both the Mission Netherlands and Global Support Services (GSS) websites. Until then, foreign nationals seeking nonimmigrant visas will need to make appointments at other U.S. embassies or consulates through June 2025. As of May 2024, immigrant visas are processed by the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt.
For assistance, contact details are provided for both the U.S. Consulate General Amsterdam and State Department Consular Affairs.
U.S. citizens are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for security and operational updates and follow updates on social media platforms X and Facebook.
