Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of Jennifer Lassiter as Head of Digital Assets for Europe and the Americas. Based in New York City, Lassiter joined the bank on May 5, 2025, and will report to Rene Michau, Global Head of Digital Assets.

In her new role, Lassiter will lead strategic digital assets initiatives across Europe and the Americas. Her focus will be on expanding digital asset capabilities, deepening partnerships within the ecosystem, and advancing secure infrastructure development to support future growth in this sector.

Rene Michau commented on her appointment: “Jennifer brings exceptional expertise in driving innovation and shaping digital finance policy across both public and private sectors. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving our efforts to bridge the world of financial services and the fast-evolving digital asset ecosystem.”

Lassiter comes with over two decades of industry experience. She previously worked at The Digital Dollar Project, collaborating with regulators, industry leaders, and multinational companies to foster central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Her work emphasized governance strategy, operational efficiency, and innovation. Additionally, she was a founding member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Innovation Lab and led technology initiatives at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
