U.S. Mission Iraq is leading a delegation of 46 business leaders from Iraq, including the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, to the United States for the annual SelectUSA Investment Summit. The event is taking place in the Washington, DC metropolitan area from May 11-14.

The delegation includes representatives from various industries such as technology, cybersecurity, tourism, hospitality, food and beverage, franchising, agriculture, construction, investment, pharmaceuticals, real estate, and oil and gas. This diverse group highlights the wide range of opportunities for partnership and investment between the United States and Iraq.

The SelectUSA Investment Summit is recognized as a key event for promoting foreign direct investment in the United States. It brings together international investors with U.S. state and local representatives as well as government officials to facilitate investment in the U.S. economy. Organized by the Department of Commerce, SelectUSA provides essential information and services to assist foreign investors in navigating the process of investing in the United States.

"This visit is part a series of significant engagements aimed at strengthening economic ties between Iraq and the United States across various sectors," according to a statement from U.S. Mission Iraq.

In May, a delegation from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation visited Baghdad. Earlier in April, more than 100 businesspeople from the U.S.-Iraq Business Chamber participated in a business forum held in Baghdad.
