Melanie Kehr has assumed a new role today as KfW's Executive Board member responsible for domestic promotional business. She will also continue to handle her previous responsibilities as Executive Board Member for IT and Operations until a successor is appointed.

Kehr steps into the position previously held by Katharina Herrmann, who departed KfW on April 30, 2025, by mutual agreement. Kehr joined KfW's Executive Board on March 1, 2019, and has since spearheaded the bank's transformation, introducing new digital and efficient processes for promotional business starting with IT.

Stefan Wintels, CEO of KfW, commented, "The appointment of Melanie Kehr for this new role is about continuity and new beginnings at the same time. It is essential that our activities are even more focused on Germany’s competitiveness in the years ahead."

Melanie Kehr expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am looking forward to the new role and the additional responsibility. My goal as KfW Executive Board member for domestic promotion is to strengthen Germany as a business location in addition to fostering its sovereignty and competitiveness through reliable, effective and efficient promotion.
