Thank you very much, Mr. President. United States representatives thanked Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo and Assistant Secretary-General Musya for their briefings at the recent UN Security Council briefing on Ukraine.

The United States has put forward a framework proposal to both Russia and Ukraine, which is believed to potentially bring about a durable and lasting peace. The United States highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire to halt the ongoing destruction and bloodshed.

In recent months, Russia has been involved in high-profile strikes on Ukraine, resulting in unnecessary loss of life, including innocent civilians. President Trump has urged Russia to cease these attacks and stressed the urgent need to end the war.

There is concern over the presence of DPRK troops on the battlefield, as noted by announcements from both Russia and the DPRK. This development is viewed as a serious escalation and considered a military partnership that contravenes resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and permits Russia to continue strikes.

The opportunity for Russia to achieve a lasting peace is currently significant. The responsibility for ending the war lies with both Russia and Ukraine, with decisions resting on the leaders of the two countries to explore possible prospects for peace.

The United States has pledged full support if both sides are prepared to conclude the war, suggesting that the acceptance of the U.S. proposal would offer substantial benefits. This includes economic growth, city reconstructions, and humanitarian healing for both Ukraine and Russia.

Nevertheless, the consequences of continuing the conflict are substantial, with ordinary Ukrainian and Russian families, who largely desire peace, being the most affected. The call for both sides to embrace peace persists, and the appeal to fellow Council members and all UN Member States to back the peace initiative is reiterated.

Thank you, Mr. President.
