Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) has announced the closing of its latest financial transaction, Morgan Stanley Eaton Vance CLO 2025-21, Ltd. This marks MSIM's first Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) for 2025. The deal, valued at $400 million, priced on March 7, brings the total assets under MSIM's CLO platform to approximately $7.5 billion across twenty vehicles. Wells Fargo Securities acted as the sole arranger for the transaction.

Steve Sebo, the Head of CLO Structuring & Capital Markets, expressed satisfaction with the deal's completion. "We’re excited to be back in the new issue market and are encouraged by the interest from both new and existing investors," Sebo remarked, emphasizing the significance of the transaction for MSIM's CLO business.

Ed Greenaway, Head of CLO Portfolio Management, highlighted the challenges and opportunities presented by the market. "Navigating the difficult dance of risk and return across the capital structure and within the asset pool has always been the core of our approach. The recent volatility within the market presents challenges but also opportunity for equity and debt investors alike," said Greenaway.

MSIM's Floating-Rate Loan team, established in 1989, plays a pioneering role in broadly syndicated loan investment management. This team, comprising over 40 members, oversees a range of U.S. and European loan strategies, CLO debt tranches, and an expanding CLO platform. At the beginning of 2025, the team managed total assets amounting to $30.0 billion.
