The U.S. Embassy in Serbia has announced the commencement of the Fulbright Graduate Study Program competition for the academic year 2026-2027. This program will allow young professionals from Serbia the opportunity to pursue a master's degree at a U.S. university. Fields of study include agriculture, American history, and computer science among others.

Participants will be chosen through a merit-based competition. The Fulbright award covers tuition, fees, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and airfare.

Eligibility requires that applicants be Serbian citizens and not dual citizens or permanent U.S. residents. Applicants must be proficient in English and eligible for a J-1 visa, which obliges them to return to Serbia for a minimum of two years after the program. Undergraduate education must be completed by the time of application, and applicants should not currently be studying in the U.S. They must also pass a medical clearance.

General selection criteria focus on a strong academic record and personal suitability. Candidates should be responsible citizens of Serbia who have not previously studied in the U.S. Applications are accepted without discrimination based on race, color, religion, or sex.

The selection process involves pre-screening, interviews, and final approval by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Applications must include an online form, three letters of reference, academic records, TOEFL and GRE scores, and a valid passport copy.

Applications close on June 2, 2025. Only applications submitted through the specified official system will be considered. For more information, contact the email provided or visit the U.S. Embassy's website.
