U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright recently visited Qatar from April 16 to 17 on his first official international trip. The visit aimed to reinforce partnerships with significant global energy producers and promote sustainable and affordable energy solutions.
During his trip to Doha, Secretary Wright engaged with key Qatari officials, including Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi. His itinerary also featured a tour of Ras Laffan Industrial City and visits to prominent Qatari cultural sites, including the National Museum of Qatar and Souq Waqif.
The Department of Energy, via spokesperson Ben Dietderich, issued a statement regarding the Secretary's visit: "Secretary Wright’s visit marks an important step in building deeper collaboration with one of the world’s leading energy partners. Through discussions focused on innovation, investment, and energy security, the Secretary aims to help expand opportunities for shared growth and ensure the availability of affordable energy around the world."
