The U.S. Embassy in Tunis has announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program for 2025. This program, initiated by the U.S. Department of State in 2019, aims to empower women entrepreneurs by providing them with essential business skills in strategic planning, marketing, and finance.

Two groups, each comprising ten women, will undergo in-person training sessions where they will interact with local facilitators, business leaders, and mentors who are U.S. exchange alumni. The program is facilitated in partnership with Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School for Global Management and uses online learning platforms at no cost to participants.

The DreamBuilder platform, available in English and Spanish, covers fundamental business concepts such as marketing, pricing, and bookkeeping. It also includes a business plan generator. Additionally, the Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative offers a more advanced curriculum in over 40 languages, including Arabic and French. This can be used either in conjunction with or as an alternative to DreamBuilder.

Further details about the program and application process are available in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Inquiries can be directed to PASTunisSmallGrants@state.gov.

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2025, at 23:59 local Tunisian time. Total funding for this initiative stands at $35,000, pending the availability of funds.
