On April 17, 2025, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was briefed on the economic developments in Myanmar. This informal meeting was held in Washington, D.C., following standard procedures for IMF members whose Article IV consultations have experienced delays.

The IMF typically conducts these briefings based on publicly available information when Article IV consultations are delayed by more than 18 months. The briefings take place approximately every 12 months in such cases.

The meeting served as an update on Myanmar's economic situation, continuing the IMF's oversight and support for its member countries in maintaining economic stability.
