Samsung Electronics has maintained its position as the leading brand in the global gaming monitor market for the sixth year in a row, according to data from the International Data Corporation (IDC). In 2024, Samsung captured a 21.0% share of the global gaming monitor market based on total revenue. The company also held the top spot in the global OLED monitor segment for the second consecutive year, reaching a 34.6% market share, two years after introducing its first OLED model.
“Samsung’s momentum in the gaming display market reflects our relentless pursuit of innovation and deep understanding of what today’s gamers need,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “From immersive 3D experiences to industry-leading OLED performance, we’re shaping the future of gaming.”
Samsung attributes its continuing growth to its Odyssey gaming monitor line, which has set standards for immersive and high-performance gaming. According to the company, the lineup features its proprietary Quantum Dot OLED technology which improves color accuracy, contrast, and brightness from all viewing angles. This technology, along with being NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and supporting AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, aims to reduce stuttering, choppiness, and lag.
Models such as the Odyssey 3D and the Odyssey OLED G8 are available globally, while the Odyssey OLED G6 is expected to be released worldwide in the latter half of 2025.
