A demonstration is set to occur near the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur on April 11, 2025. The protest is planned to start at 2:00 p.m. in front of the Menara See Hoy Chan building.
The U.S. Embassy has advised its citizens to stay informed through local media for any updates. The embassy's services are expected to continue as normal, but there may be traffic disruptions near the embassy, and a police presence is anticipated.
At noon on the day of the protest, the embassy's front entrance will be closed to pedestrian traffic until the demonstration concludes. The embassy stated, "There is no indication at this time that this demonstration will become violent, but the U.S. Embassy reminds U.S. citizens that the nature of protests can change quickly and with little warning."
The embassy has also reminded U.S. citizens that non-Malaysians are prohibited from participating in demonstrations in Malaysia. They advised citizens to avoid areas where demonstrators gather, monitor local media, steer clear of crowds and demonstrations, and remain aware of their surroundings.
