The United States Embassy in Lima will hold a public online auction featuring items owned by the US Government. These items include IT equipment, household and office furniture, appliances, and various other goods. The auction is scheduled to run from April 11 to April 13, 2025.
Interested participants can view and bid on items by visiting https://online-auction.state.gov. After registration, participants will need to confirm their registration via email. Bids are placed in Nuevos Soles, and items will be awarded to the highest bidders. Winners will be informed on April 14, 2024, with payment directions. Payments must be made through bank transfers in Nuevos Soles.
"By registering and participating in the online auction conducted by the U.S. Embassy in Lima, the participant expressly acknowledges and agrees to comply with the following terms and conditions," states the release. The items are sold as-is with no warranties or guarantees. The Embassy has announced the auction through various official channels.
Participants are responsible for any related expenses after winning a bid. Violators of the terms will face disqualification from future Embassy auctions for a one-year period. The US Government "reserves the absolute right to reject any bid that, in its sole discretion, is deemed unfair or inconsistent."
Winning bidders will receive an email with payment instructions the business day following the auction's conclusion. Payments must be confirmed by an authorized embassy representative. If payment isn't confirmed, the bid becomes void.
"The Winning Bidder shall remit full payment within a maximum period of twenty-four (24) hours from the time of notification," notes the Embassy. Failure to do so could result in bid cancellation or reallocation of the lot to another bidder.
Collection of purchased items is scheduled for April 21 to 25, 2025, in Pucallpa, Ucayali. "Upon verification of payment, the Winning Bidder shall receive an email with the exact date, time, and location for the collection," the release mentions.
Winners are responsible for the removal and transportation of items. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and access will be denied to those not complying. Failure to collect items on schedule may lead to forfeiture without refunds.
The Embassy emphasizes compliance with safety protocols during the collection. Accidents or damages during this time are the winning bidder's responsibility. The Embassy will not be liable for incidents during the removal process.
