Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Uzbekistan National Security Council Deputy Chairman Abdulaziz Kamilov convened in Washington today to discuss various bilateral issues. The meeting underscored the United States' commitment to supporting Uzbekistan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while promoting their strategic partnership.

During the meeting, Deputy Secretary Landau acknowledged Uzbekistan's initiatives to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in civil nuclear energy and investment in critical minerals and other economic sectors. He also commended Uzbekistan for its cooperation in addressing illegal immigration and counterterrorism efforts.
