ANZ has released its 2025 MoneyMinded Impact Report, highlighting the program's significant achievement of reaching over one million participants since its launch in 2002. MoneyMinded, the bank's primary financial education initiative, is designed to enhance financial literacy by helping adults gain the necessary skills to manage their finances effectively.

In the previous year alone, the program assisted over 118,000 participants, marking the highest single-year participation since its inception. Of this total, over 95,000 were reached in Australia, and 71% of MoneyMinded Coaches acknowledged the program's success in alleviating financial stress.

Commenting on the milestone, ANZ CEO Shayne Elliott stated, “We are very proud to celebrate the remarkable milestone of delivering our MoneyMinded program in workshops and in a one-on-one environment to over one million participants around the world. The significant impact of MoneyMinded, spanning more than two decades, supports ANZ’s purpose to shape a world where people and communities thrive."

The past year saw increased demand for the MoneyMinded program in Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific, with 42% of coaches noting this rise. Consequently, the program has extended its outreach, incorporating more online modules and increasing both the number of coaches and student participants.

Elliott noted the program's impact, stating, "We recognise that cost-of-living pressures often disproportionately affect those already facing financial challenges. The positive feedback from MoneyMinded participants highlights the meaningful impact we are making in our mission to help Australians and their families develop good savings habits and build financial literacy.”

In 2024, the program improved accessibility by translating participant materials into five more languages and introducing resources aimed at boosting scam awareness. For 2025, MoneyMinded plans to release new content focused on enhancing digital literacy for vulnerable groups.

The program is implemented in partnership with several community organizations, including Berry Street, Brotherhood of St. Laurence, and The Smith Family in Australia, along with private training establishments and other partners across New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.

Mr. Elliott expressed gratitude towards the program’s partners, stating, "Hitting this major milestone is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our community partners, who play a crucial role in delivering this program. We are thankful to the thousands of MoneyMinded Coaches throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific who utilise MoneyMinded to support participants from low-income and disadvantaged communities improve their financial wellbeing."

Key statistics from the report reveal that 73.3% of Australian participants were women, compared to 62.3% in New Zealand and 41.5% in the Asia-Pacific. Young adults dominated participation in New Zealand, while Australia's participants included a significant proportion of sole parents. Meanwhile, there was a notable increase in student and young adult participation in Australia from the previous year.

Over 4,900 people joined the MoneyBusiness program, a branch of MoneyMinded aimed at empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with financial skills. More than 40% of MoneyBusiness participants were under 25 years old.

MoneyMinded continues to be available online through interactive activities. For additional program details and reports, interested individuals can visit the program’s official website.
