ANZ has announced a disaster relief package to support customers and businesses affected by flooding in North Queensland. As entire communities deal with the aftermath of severe weather, immediate assistance is available to those impacted.

For ANZ customers, the support measures include short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans, although interest may still be charged. The bank also waives fees for restructuring business loans and for early access to term deposits. Customers with ANZ Home and Contents Insurance may qualify for emergency funds and temporary accommodation.

ANZ General Manager Queensland, Jackie Auf der Maur, stated: “The impact of the flooding on homes, businesses and infrastructure is widespread. At this time it is important for people to continue to monitor the ongoing situation.”

She added, “The safety of all residents in flood-affected areas remains a priority, but when customers are ready we are here to help them rebuild and recover.”

Flood-affected ANZ customers can reach out to the bank’s financial hardship team by calling 1800 149 549 or visiting anz.com.au/support/natural-disaster-support/. Visiting local branches or contacting relationship managers are also encouraged for discussing the impact on personal or business circumstances.

For those with insurance claims, calls can be made to 13 16 14 or through the website anz.com/insuranceclaims.
