The G7 Foreign Ministers and the High Representative of the European Union have released a statement addressing China's recent military drills around Taiwan. The statement was made public on April 6, 2025, with representatives from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the European Union expressing their "deep concern about China’s provocative actions."

The G7 highlighted that these "increasingly frequent and destabilizing activities" are contributing to rising tensions across the Taiwan Strait, threatening global security and prosperity. Emphasizing the importance of peace and stability in the region, the G7 ministers stated, "We oppose any unilateral actions to threaten such peace and stability, including by force or coercion."

The statement also reiterated the G7's stance in promoting peaceful resolutions through "constructive cross-Strait dialogue" to address the situation.
