An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, directed by Mr. Nikoloz Gigineishvili, carried out discussions for the 2025 Article IV consultation with the Kyrgyz Republic from March 12 to March 26, 2025, in Bishkek. The statement issued at the mission's conclusion describes the preliminary findings.

The statement clarifies the nature of these findings, noting, "The views expressed in this statement are those of the IMF staff and do not necessarily represent the views of the IMF’s Executive Board." Following the mission, a report will be prepared by IMF staff and submitted, upon management approval, to the IMF Executive Board for further consideration.

The mission covered several areas, including economic developments, outlook, fiscal policy, monetary and exchange rate policies, financial sector policies, structural reforms, and technical assistance. The authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the publication of the statement, which is part of the regular annual consultations conducted under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement.

The IMF mission expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by the Kyrgyz authorities, stating, "The mission would like to thank the authorities for open and constructive discussions and their hospitality."
