INSEAD has announced the launch of the Negotiation Course for the World (NCW), a new initiative by the INSEAD Negotiation and Conflict Management Collaborative (NCMC). This endeavor aims to provide free access to quality negotiation materials globally. According to Roderick Swaab, Professor of Organisational Behaviour and NCMC co-founder, the initiative is part of their effort to "bring scholars and practitioners together to collaborate on research and education on negotiation and conflict management."
Eric Uhlmann, also a Professor of Organisational Behaviour and NCMC co-founder, emphasized the importance of the course by stating, "We believe offering educators around the world free access to world-class resources and knowledge that can make a real difference in reducing social and economic inequality through empowerment."
The initiative provides free resources such as class plans, slides, exercises, case studies, and soon, train-the-trainer videos. Contributions have come from Martin Schweinsberg of ESMT, among others. The comprehensive course aims to foster a more collaborative global future.
In addition to this, the collaborative invites global researchers to join them in reshaping negotiation skills, using pedagogical innovation. The resources, originally in English, will be translated into 130 languages, facilitated by INSEAD Professor Phil Parker's AI capabilities.
Horacio Falcao, Professor of Management Practice of Decision Sciences and another NCMC co-founder, explained that "The NCW’s goal is to create positive change by supporting a vibrant community of negotiation and conflict management educators to empower individuals and institutions to tackle their individual, professional and societal challenges through win-win negotiations that build collaborative and peaceful relationships and create sustained value."
