KfW has announced a new feature in its promotional roadmap aimed at subsidizing heating system replacements. Starting from March 27, 2025, a diverse group of private and corporate clients can now use the customer portal to submit necessary documents digitally for review and disbursement. The eligible customer groups include residential and non-residential building companies, owners of rented single-family houses, and those involved with rented and self-occupied apartments under housing associations, specifically concerning measures on special property.
The process ensures that after KfW positively reviews the submitted supporting documents and eligibility, the grant will be deposited into the grant recipient's bank account. Typically, this transaction is completed by the end of the month following the document review.
For all customers who have secured a grant commitment from KfW aimed at facilitating heating system replacements, funds are allocated and guaranteed. These customers have a 36-month window from the commitment date to execute the stated measures. To receive the subsidy, the required evidence needs to be submitted digitally to KfW within six months post-completion of the measures.
Looking ahead, KfW is preparing to expand the digital submission capability to municipalities by June 2025. By mid-year, KfW aims for all customer groups—private, commercial, and municipal—to have seamless access to an entirely digital, automated online process for handling the application and processing of heating system replacement subsidies.
