Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) reported that its electrified vehicles made up 54.7% of overall sales in March and 55.7% during the first quarter of 2025. Specifically for the Toyota and Lexus divisions, electrified vehicle sales were significant.

In the Toyota division, 54.4% of vehicles sold in Q1 were electrified, with the Lexus division seeing 63.1% of its Q1 sales as electrified vehicles. Across these divisions, a total of 2,736 Zero-Emission Vehicles, including electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell electric vehicles, were sold in Q1. Record quarters for the Lexus RX 450h+ and NX 450h+ contributed to these figures.

In March, 53.8% of sales in the Toyota division were electrified, while the Lexus division reached 60.3%.

TCI's total vehicle sales in Q1 were 50,835 units, marking an 11.2% decline from the previous year. In March, 22,756 units were sold, a 6.3% decrease compared to March 2024. The Toyota division sold 43,140 units in Q1, a 14.9% drop year over year, and 19,538 units in March, down 9.9% from March 2024.

Conversely, the Lexus division achieved record sales with 7,695 units sold in Q1, a 17.6% year-over-year increase, and 3,218 units in March, a 23.6% increase from March 2024.

Several nameplates achieved records in March and Q1. In the Toyota lineup, the GR Supra had its best Q1, the Tundra and Corolla Cross saw their best Q1s and March sales, and the RAV4 had its best month ever.

For Lexus, the UX Hybrid had its best Q1 and March sales, the NX Hybrid achieved its best Q1 and March sales, and the RX Hybrid recorded its best Q1 and March as well.
