At the Hannover Messe 2025, Accenture and Siemens announced the formation of a joint venture, the Accenture Siemens Business Group. This collaboration will consist of 7,000 professionals and aims to merge the strengths of both companies in manufacturing and IT. The alliance will focus on developing and marketing solutions that integrate Siemens Xcelerator portfolio's automation and industrial AI with Accenture's data and AI expertise.
Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens, stated, "By strengthening our partnership, we combine the unique capabilities of two market leaders: Siemens’ technology, access to data and deep domain knowledge in software, automation and industrial AI with Accenture’s power to apply data and AI in engineering and manufacturing." This venture seeks to embed AI into businesses, enhancing value chains across industries.
Echoing this sentiment, Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, noted, "Engineering and manufacturing are the next digital frontier. The Accenture Siemens Business Group scales the power of automation, data and AI to help clients reinvent their products and how they make them." This initiative promises to boost efficiency, cost reduction, and the digital transformation of industries.
The two companies have a history of collaboration, as evidenced by their work with KION, where they are optimizing engineering processes using Siemens’ Teamcenter. Navantia, a Spanish shipbuilding, technology, and defense company, has also benefited from their collaboration, experiencing a 20% reduction in design and manufacturing costs thanks to new product development platforms.
The business group will target various industries, including aerospace and defense, automotive, consumer products, and electronics. The focus will be on engineering services that reinvent R&D models, software-defined products, and the rapid adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering and Software-Defined Vehicle frameworks for automakers.
Manufacturing services will facilitate real-time tracking and control, mitigating cyber threats and advancing AI-powered operations. Furthermore, the group will provide industrial asset services, including maintenance and repair.
The underpinning of their offerings is Accenture’s Industry X digital engineering and manufacturing assets, equipped with AI customizations and governance. By leveraging these assets, the business group aims to enhance productivity and the efficiency of product development through agentic AI.
