President Trump has reinforced U.S. immigration laws to improve national safety and prosperity. The administration is taking measures against illegal entry, overstaying visas, or working without proper authorization in the United States. Penalties for such actions include imprisonment, deportation, and permanent disqualification from obtaining a U.S. visa.

The administration has enhanced border security significantly, resulting in a noticeable decline in illegal border crossings by 94% in February 2025 compared to the same month in 2024. Arrests of individuals who entered or remained illegally have surged by 627%. People attempting illegal entry or overstaying visas face detention and expulsion. Additionally, visa fraud is prosecuted severely, risking a permanent ban from entering the United States.

The journey to illegally cross U.S. borders poses severe risks, including exposure to criminal groups engaging in violence, extortion, and human trafficking. The United States is collaborating with other Western Hemisphere nations to curb illegal immigration before migrants reach the border.

The U.S. government is also addressing those facilitating illegal immigration, including smugglers and foreign officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio introduced new visa restrictions targeting foreign officials not aiding in the prevention of illegal immigration, extending existing restrictions in the transportation and tourism sectors.

The administration emphasizes that illegal entry not only defies U.S. laws but also endangers personal safety. The serious consequences include jail time, family separation, and permanent entry bans. Citizens are encouraged to advise anyone illegally residing in the U.S. to return to their home country to avoid these risks and to adhere to legal pathways for migration.

"Make the right choice, follow the law, and do not risk your safety, your family, or your future."
