Sun Life Financial Inc. has announced the appointment of Bennet Li as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Asia. This appointment is effective immediately, and Bennet will report to Tim Deacon, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, as well as Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia.

In his new role, Bennet will be responsible for aligning financial strategies, operational processes, and capital allocation across the Asian region. His focus will be on driving strategic financial objectives to accelerate growth and deliver long-term value for shareholders.

Bennet has been serving as the interim CFO for Sun Life Asia since September 2024. His tenure at Sun Life began in 2002, and he has since held multiple leadership roles in Finance, Actuarial, and Group Benefits and Retirement Services in both Asia and Canada. Prior to this appointment, he was Vice President, Head of Strategic Finance, and Country Manager for Mainland China.

Bennet will be based in Sun Life's Regional headquarters in Hong Kong and will join the Asia Executive Team. He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
