Meeting focuses on combating human trafficking and developing a national action plan

Chargée d’Affaires Meghan Moore recently met with the Minister of Social Affairs and Humanitarian Action, Irène Mboukou-Kimbatsa, to discuss efforts in combating human trafficking. The meeting focused on advancing a national action plan aimed at addressing this issue.

The initiative is supported financially by the United States. A team of United Nations experts is expected to visit Brazzaville to collaborate with local specialists in finalizing the plan before it is validated and adopted.

During the discussions, Chargée d’Affaires Moore highlighted the significance of this initiative and acknowledged the commitment of the Congolese government to the process. She stated, "We reaffirm our commitment alongside Congo to the protection of human rights and the fight against all forms of trafficking."
